URSIJAE was founded by Jay Pisarek, a designer committed to sustainability and the belief that upcycling needs to be key piece of the fashion industry. What began as a personal project is also a nod to Jay’s family nickname, “Bear”; Ursidae is the scientific family name for bears. After teaching himself to sew and construct garments in just a few months, the project quickly evolved into a mission: to create high-quality, one-of-one clothing that’s sustainable.
